He's been getting a lot of popularity, hmm?
I seriously need to start uploading my crap on here. But I'm still alive.
Anyway, update in life.
I got accepted into all of the colleges I've applied to, University of Hawaii, Hawaii Pacific University, and the Art Institute of California San Francisco.
I entered the Art Institute's scholarship poster contest. I ended up getting first place within the San Francisco competition, which earned me $3000 and entrance to the national competition, which gives me a chance to win $1000 to $25000 more toward my tuition. The thing is, I also was awarded the Presidential Scholarship to HPU, which pays for my full tuition. I have to reply by May 1st. And the results of the AI national scholarship competition is May 20-something. Apparently, AI needed to know whether or not I'll keep their scholarship, which only works for their school, in order to let me in the national competition or give it to the 2nd place winner since I'll have no use for the money anyway.
So I was given the decision:
a) Go to a local college that doesn't solely focus on art, but has a graphics program and tuition will be full payed or
b) Go to a college on the mainland that solely focuses on art with a guranteed $3000 toward tuition and a chance to win $1000-$25000 more if I place in the national competition which will probably only pay part or fully for my freshman year.
So.
I forfeited it.
As much as I wanted to go to AI, money is always an issue and
I'm supposed to pay for
my college according to my parents. HPU, here I come. It's easier this way. All I have to worry about is paying for books and transportation there. Maybe I'll move downtown. Maybe.
Oh, and I got a $500 per semester scholarship thing for UH. Whoop-dee-doo. Yeah, I'm not going there.

In other news, I'm the chapter president of my school's SkillsUSA team and I am one of two representatives for the school in the Advertising Design competition. The CTE convention was on March 11th to March 13th.
March 11th, the team left the school around 10-ish? I was in Mrs. Lum's, our advisor, car along with my cousin (the Vice Pres), Emily (the secretary), and Amanda (member, Ad Design competitor, and long time friend). We took a detour before heading to downtown to get some breakfast at McDonalds. I swear, I received a commercial-quality Sausage McMuffin with Egg. Haha. Then we planned to meet the rest of the team (8 more members and 1 chaperon) at the Honolulu Zoo parking lot. 7 members and myself ended up heading to the zoo to spend the afternoon there. After a super fun zoo trip, we explored Waikiki then headed to the hotel to check in. After, we headed to the convention for opening ceremony. Then we went back to the hotel, where I was the first to crash, with good reason too. I went to sleep at midnight and woke up at 2 to finish last minute homework and finish packing... and was awake since then. Went to sleep at like 11-1 am? I forget when I fell asleep.
12th, competition day. Woke up at 6 am, stumbled out of the hotel by 7. Left Burger King after getting breakfast to take to competition around 7:30. Got to convention around 7:40. Our (Amanda and I) competition started at 8. There were only 6 other competitors there, three schools, two people each. They reviewed our equipment and told us what the procedures were... then we started the graphics test. We were given 30 minuets. Got done with it under 10 minutes, so I took a little nap (so did Amanda). Then the next phase was to recreate a magazine cover. They gave us the base picture and all the fonts they used. The thing is, I was the only PC user. Only one font out of a bunch of fonts was able to download on my computer. Arrg. I told the judges and they said they'd take note of that. We were given and hour to finish. Looking around, no one was absolutely done. Not to sound conceited, but mine looked the most finished. The next task was to create an original magazine ad for a company. We were given its specs and a bunch of images to use. Time given was 3 hours. I finished within the first hour and half probably. i was completely bored out of my mind, so I just kept tweaking my ad. We ended up finishing our competition at 5. The rest of the team was waiting for us. We then headed back to the hotel to get ready for the Banquet/dance. Haha, so much fun it was. Another night of early crashing.
13th, award day. We went to some break out sessions. Ours was about learning about the Mac in depth. Um, one problem. I'm a PC. Lulz. It was fun either way. Then we went to the award luncheons. Fun again
Fist carrot cake, haha. ANYWAY. I ended up getting gold and Amanda got brozen, making us 1st and 3rd in the state. me being gold, I get to go to nationals in June. Woop! The only other medal get was bronze in Video Production. *sighs* We may not have won a lot, but I swear, it was waaaaaaaay fun. Then we went home.
*sighs* I can't believe that was more than a week ago.

But I've been busy with that, theatre, other clubs, projects and schoolwork... It's been wearing me down. This quarter was probably my worst. Thank goodness for spring break.
So yeah, that's life so far.
The end.
